Fog Causes Major Train Delays at Patna Junction as Winter Weather Hits North India

Dense winter fog and low visibility have caused big train delays at Patna Junction and other parts of North India this week. This weather has affected many trains, making travel hard for passengers. Fog delays trains and trains are arriving hours late, forcing people to wait in cold weather on busy platforms.

The heavy fog has covered rail lines, especially during early morning and late night hours. Because of very poor visibility, Indian Railways asked train drivers to slow down for safety. This has made many trains reach Patna Junction much later than scheduled. Some trains are delayed by more than nine hours. Passengers have missed connections, stood for long hours, and faced trouble finding seats or shelter in cold weather.

Several important long-distance trains have been severely affected by the fog. For example, the Delhi–Patna Tejas Express is running more than nine hours late. The Howrah–New Delhi Rajdhani Express was delayed by more than twelve hours. Other express trains like the Sampoorna Kranti Express and the Rajendra Nagar–New Delhi Amrit Bharat Express are also running many hours behind schedule. Many daily passengers were surprised to see trains arriving so late.

Other trains such as the Bhagalpur Garib Rath Express, Magadh Express, Brahmaputra Mail, Bilaspur–Buxar Express and Delhi–Kamakhya Express also faced long delays due to fog. All these delays have made train travel in Patna difficult this winter. Crowds of people waiting at the station have grown larger, and many passengers complained about the long waiting times.

Railway officials have said that the main reason for train delays is dense fog, not technical problems. For safety, trains must travel slower when visibility is low. The officials also told passengers to check the latest train running status before they start their journey. Information is available at enquiry counters and on digital boards at the station. The railways may take several days to return to normal schedules if the fog continues.

Apart from train delays, the winter fog is also expected to continue across Bihar in the coming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned that fog may remain strong in many districts, reducing visibility and affecting travel on roads and railway tracks. Passengers are advised to stay updated with official weather and train status information to avoid surprises.

In summary, foggy weather, train delays, and poor visibility are creating serious problems for many travellers in Patna and North India. Passengers should plan ahead, check train schedules, and be prepared for possible delays during the winter fog season.

Dense winter fog has caused major train delays at Patna Junction and across North India, with several long-distance trains running hours behind schedule. Poor visibility has forced trains to operate at reduced speeds for safety, leading to overcrowded platforms and passenger inconvenience.
