According to the official data released by the railway department, nearly ten lakh passengers were caught during this period. To be exact, nine lakh and ninety-eight thousand people were found violating the rules. This campaign was not just a one-time event but a continuous effort to bring discipline to the railway network. The authorities used surprise checks and special teams to monitor trains and platforms across the entire Prayagraj division.

The primary goal of this drive was to stop ticketless travel, which causes a significant loss of money for the government. When people travel without paying, it puts a heavy burden on the railway system and makes it harder to maintain the quality of the stations and trains. By collecting over sixty-eight crore rupees in penalties, the railway is sending a clear message that everyone must pay their fair share for the services they use.
Aside from ticketless travel, many passengers were also fined for other irregularities. This includes people traveling in higher-class coaches with a lower-class ticket and those carrying unbooked luggage that exceeded the allowed weight limit. The month of January 2026 was particularly busy for the ticket-checking staff. During this single month, the division caught over eighty-seven thousand passengers and collected more than six crore rupees in fines. This shows that the railway is not slowing down and is determined to keep the momentum going. Senior officials from the Prayagraj Division have praised the ticket-checking teams for their hard work and dedication in making this campaign a success.

When a train is overcrowded with ticketless travelers, it can lead to safety hazards and make it difficult for staff to manage the crowd. The railway department has requested all passengers to always buy a proper ticket before entering the station premises and to cooperate with the staff during inspections.
