By Railway travel in parts of Telangana and Maharashtra is set to become more comfortable and safe for passengers. On Thursday, February 5, 2026, the General Manager of South Central Railway (SCR), Mr. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, conducted a very detailed inspection of the railway line between Adilabad, Mudkhed, and Purna. This visit was important because it allowed the top official to see exactly how new construction is progressing and how existing services are working for the public.
The inspection began at Adilabad Railway Station, which is currently undergoing a major transformation under the Amrit Station Scheme. This government project aims to modernize railway stations by adding better waiting halls, cleaner platforms, and easier entry points. Mr. Srivastava carefully checked the redevelopment work and also spent time at the crew lobby and the combined crew running room, where railway staff rest between their duties. During his time at the station, local leaders including Adilabad MLA Payal Shanker met with him to discuss how to bring even more railway development to the region.
As the inspection moved along the tracks, the General Manager focused heavily on safety, which is always the top priority for the Indian Railways. He stopped at Level Crossing Gate Number 23, located between Adilabad and Kinwat, to review the safety equipment and operational records. He even took the time to talk with the gateman on duty to understand the daily working conditions and challenges faced by the staff on the ground. Safety checks also included an inspection of Bridge Number 110 at Nagada-Nallah and a review of the tracks at a specific curved section to ensure that the rails are in perfect condition for passing trains.
At Kinwat Railway Station, the inspection turned back to the needs of the passengers. The General Manager walked through the booking counters, the waiting areas, and the station master’s office to see if everything was clean and efficient. He noticed several ongoing construction projects and directed the officials to work faster so that the targets can be met on time. He emphasized that the goal is not just to build new things, but to make sure that people using these stations every day feel a real difference in comfort.
The visit continued through other key stations including Himayatnagar, Bhokar, Mudkhed, and Purna. At each location, Mr. Srivastava reviewed the progress of the Amrit Station redevelopment projects. He urged his team to complete these works without any delays because improved passenger facilities are vital for the growing population in these areas. He also checked the readiness of the Medical Relief Van and the Accident Relief Train at Purna Station to make sure that the railway is always prepared to respond quickly in case of any emergency.
Accompanied by the Divisional Railway Manager of Nanded, Mr. Pradeep Lakshmanrao Kamle, the General Manager’s visit shows that the SCR is committed to upgrading its infrastructure. By checking everything from bridge safety to the quality of waiting rooms, the railway authorities are working to ensure that traveling between Adilabad and Purna becomes a much better experience. As these projects reach completion in the coming months, commuters can look forward to more modern stations and a safer, smoother journey across the Nanded Division.
