The Indian Railways has changed the way people travel across the country by introducing many fast Vande Bharat trains. Recently, they started a new kind of service: the Vande Bharat Sleeper train. This special train runs between Kamakhya in Assam and Howrah in West Bengal. A railway enthusiast recently shared their personal experience of traveling on this brand-new train on the famous Team-BHP website. The traveler wanted to see if the new sleeper train is as comfortable and modern as the government promised.
The traveler planned a trip for a family of four and decided to book the First AC coach. Booking tickets for this top-class coach can be quite hard because there are only twenty-four seats available in the entire train. To get the tickets, the traveler had to sit in front of the computer and book them at exactly eight in the morning on the opening day. Fortunately, the booking was successful. On the day of the journey, the family received an SMS showing they had been given a private cabin. This was perfect for them because it kept the whole family together in a single, cozy space.

When the family arrived at the Kamakhya station, they noticed the train was very punctual. The beautiful train arrived at the platform forty minutes before the departure time and the automatic doors opened immediately. As soon as the family stepped inside the coach, they were highly impressed. The cabin was extremely clean and well-maintained. The train worker quickly welcomed them and gave them fresh bedsheets, pillows, clean blankets, and soft towels. The catering staff also gave everyone a bottle of drinking water right away.
This new train is filled with amazing modern technology that you do not see on older trains. For example, the doors between the coaches open automatically when you wave your hand in front of a sensor. Inside the private cabin, there is a special glass door. If you want to make the glass transparent so you can see outside, you only have to press a green button. There is also a special call button in the cabin. If you need any help, you can press this button to call the train worker, who receives an alert on their panel. The beds are wide and very comfortable, and there are small staircases to help passengers climb up to the top bunks safely.
The food served on the train was another great highlight of the journey. Around eight in the evening, the staff served a delicious dinner. The menu had a lovely mix of Assamese and Bengali food, which tasted very fresh and authentic. The next morning, the staff served hot tea and coffee before seven o’clock to help passengers wake up refreshed. In addition, the toilets on the train were very neat. The First AC coach even has a toilet with a shower, which is a very unique feature for Indian trains.
The train ride was incredibly smooth and quiet. The train arrived at the Howrah station a few minutes before the scheduled time. The railway enthusiast concluded that the Vande Bharat Sleeper is a massive upgrade for Indian Railways. It feels much better, cleaner, and more luxurious than the older Rajdhani trains. This review shows that the new sleeper train is a wonderful option for anyone who wants a safe, fast, and comfortable night journey.
A railway enthusiast shared a detailed review of the new Kamakhya–Howrah Vande Bharat Sleeper train, praising its modern technology, clean cabins, smooth ride, and high-quality service. The First AC experience included automatic doors, smart glass cabins, comfortable beds, and regional Assamese-Bengali meals.
