Prime Minister Narendra Modi is very happy about a big new decision made by the Indian government. The Union Cabinet recently agreed to start some major railway projects across six different states in India. These projects are designed to make train travel much faster, help businesses move their goods easily, and grow the country’s economy. PM Modi shared his happiness on social media, saying that these plans are a huge step forward for building better roads and tracks for the nation.
The government is going to spend a very large amount of money on these projects. The total cost is estimated to be twenty-three thousand four hundred and thirty-seven crore rupees. With this budget, the railway ministry will build third and fourth tracks on busy routes. These tracks will cover nineteen different districts across Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. By adding these extra tracks, the total length of the Indian railway network will increase by about nine hundred and one kilometers.

Right now, train traffic is a big problem in many parts of India. When there is only one or two tracks, passenger trains and heavy cargo trains have to wait for each other. This causes long delays and makes journeys very tiring. The new multi-tracking project will solve this problem by providing more room for trains to run at the same time. The government says this will make trains much more reliable and help them run on time. It will make daily life easier for millions of people who rely on trains to go to work or visit their families.
The new tracks will also connect more than four thousand villages to the main train network. This means that about eighty-three lakh people living in rural areas will have a much easier time traveling to big cities. It will help them get better jobs, visit hospitals when they are sick, and go to schools and colleges. PM Modi highlighted that this is a great way to bring progress to small towns and villages that need more help.
Another exciting part of this project is that it will make it easier for tourists to visit famous places in India. The new train lines will run near popular spots like the Mahakaleshwar temple, Ranthambore National Park, Kuno National Park, and the holy cities of Mathura and Vrindavan. Many tourists from India and other countries visit these places every year. Better train connectivity will make their journeys comfortable and safe, which will also help local shopkeepers and hotels earn more money.
In addition to helping people travel, these train lines are very important for moving essential goods. Many industries rely on trains to transport materials like coal, food grains, cement, steel, and fertilizers. Having extra tracks means these items can be moved across the country much faster. This will help reduce the cost of business and make items cheaper for normal buyers in the market.
Using trains is also very good for the environment. Compared to trucks on the road, trains use less fuel and produce much less pollution. The government estimate shows that these new railway lines will help save thirty-seven crore liters of fuel and stop a massive amount of harmful carbon dioxide gases from entering the air. Experts say this is as good as planting seven crore trees. PM Modi believes this project will help India protect nature while still developing fast.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the approval of major railway expansion projects worth ₹23,437 crore across six Indian states. The projects will add third and fourth railway lines to reduce congestion, improve passenger travel, strengthen freight movement, and connect over 4,000 villages. The upgrades are also expected to boost tourism, support industries, and reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
