The Bidar railway station is getting a very big and modern makeover. This special project is part of the central government’s Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The main goal of this scheme is to make railway stations in India better and more comfortable for passengers. According to recent updates, the new facilities at Bidar station will be ready for the public to use starting from April. This is very exciting news for the people of Bidar and for everyone who travels through this station frequently.
The redevelopment work started with a budget of about twenty-four crore rupees. However, the railway officials realized that more work could be done to make the station even better. Because of this, the Secunderabad Railway Division suggested increasing the budget to nearly forty crore rupees. This extra money will help add more improvements and complete the project with high quality. Most of the heavy construction and structural work is already finished. Now, the workers are busy with the final touches to make everything look neat and clean.

Passengers will notice many new things when they visit the station in April. One of the biggest changes is the installation of new lifts and escalators. These will be available on Platforms 1 and 2. This is very helpful for elderly people, children, and anyone carrying heavy bags. They will no longer have to climb many stairs to change platforms. The platforms themselves have been extended and made smoother. There are also new shelters on the platforms to protect people from the sun and rain while they wait for their trains.
The waiting halls have also been renovated to provide a more comfortable space for travelers. The old station building has been repaired and polished to look new again. Additionally, a brand-new departure hall has been built. This new hall is almost finished and will help manage the crowd better during busy hours. The toilets have also been improved to ensure better hygiene for everyone. All these changes are meant to make the journey easier and more pleasant for the thousands of people who use the station every day.
Outside the station, the parking areas have been upgraded on both sides. There is now more space for cars and two-wheelers. The area where vehicles move around, called the circulating area, has been redesigned. This will help prevent traffic jams near the station entrance. It will be much easier for passengers to enter and leave the station without any confusion. Better lighting and clear signs will also be added to guide the travelers.
The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme was started in late 2022 to modernize hundreds of railway stations across the country. Bidar was chosen as one of the important stations for this plan. The project focuses not just on beauty but also on how easy it is for people to use the station. By finishing the work by April, the railways hope to provide a world-class experience to the commuters. This upgrade will also help in improving connectivity and supporting the local economy by making travel more efficient. Everyone is now looking forward to seeing the final result next month.
Bidar railway station is undergoing a major redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, with the upgraded facilities expected to open by April 2026. The project, now costing nearly ₹40 crore, includes new lifts, escalators, improved waiting halls, expanded platforms, and better parking areas. The modernization aims to provide a more comfortable and efficient travel experience for passengers.
