Overheating can cause big problems, so checking this in real-time is very helpful for keeping the trains running smoothly.
The government is also starting to use drones to look at the overhead electric wires. These drones have special thermal cameras that can find hot spots in the wires. If a wire is too hot, it might break soon. By using drones, the railway workers can find these spots easily without having to climb up or stop the power. This makes maintenance work much easier and safer for the staff.
