This track goes from Mailani to Lucknow. They found the tigress near a small train stop called Bhikhampur halt early on a Wednesday morning. The news has made many animal lovers and forest officers very unhappy. People are now asking serious questions about how to keep wild animals safe when trains pass through deep forests.
Forest experts believe the tigress was about five to six years old. This is a very good age for a tiger, and she was perfectly healthy. Officers think she was trying to cross the railway line late at night. Sadly, a train hit her while she was walking on the tracks. This area is known as a buffer zone. A buffer zone is an area of the forest where animals move freely to find food and water. This specific place is part of the Mailani forest range. It falls under the North Kheri forest division.

At first look, the tigress did not have any big cuts on the outside of her body. However, the train hit her head very hard. The shock of the hit was so strong that it caused terrible injuries inside her body. The officers said her jaw and heart moved from their normal places. She also had heavy bleeding inside her body. The heavy hit made her lungs fill with fluid. The doctors say she died immediately after the train hit her.
Later, animal doctors did a full medical check of the dead tigress. This medical check is called an autopsy. A team of three special animal doctors did this work. They found out that the accident happened at around eleven o’clock at night on Tuesday. The officers checked the train schedules. They found that three different trains passed through that exact track around that time. The check was done very carefully. Officers from the National Tiger Conservation Authority and the state wildlife department were present to make sure everything was done right.
This sad accident has made the forest officers very angry at the railway department. The forest officer, Kirti Chaudhary, explained that they had warned the railways many times before. The forest department sent many letters and notices over the years. They asked the railway authorities to put speed meters on the tracks inside the forest. They also requested the trains to drive very slowly. The maximum speed allowed in the forest is only thirty kilometers per hour. Sadly, the railway department did not follow these important rules. The trains kept moving very fast through the animal homes.
