Great News for Kashmir Farmers: New Direct Train Service Will Send Fresh Fruits to Delhi

The Northern Railway has shared some very happy and exciting news for the people living in the Kashmir Valley. They are starting a brand new train service that will carry goods and fresh farm items. This special train will travel from Budgam in Kashmir all the way to Adarsh Nagar in Delhi. The Jammu Division of the Northern Railway is running this new project. This is a very big step because it will help many local farmers, small shop owners, and businessmen send their products to big city markets much faster than before.

This new goods train is called the Joint Parcel Product Rapid Cargo Service. The railway office said that this service will run on a test basis for a short time. It will start its journey on the seventeenth of April and it will continue to run until the thirty first of May. The main goal of this special train is to provide a fast and safe way to transport important items. This will be very helpful for the people who grow fruits, sell spices, and make beautiful wooden or cloth art in Kashmir.

The timings of this new train are very good for business. The train will start its long journey from the Budgam railway station early in the morning at a quarter past six. It will travel all day and all night, and it will reach the big city of Delhi at five o’clock the next morning. When the train needs to come back, it will leave Delhi at five o’clock in the morning. Then, it will reach Budgam at a quarter to eleven the next morning. This means the total travel time is only about twenty three to twenty four hours.

This fast travel time is extremely important for things like fresh food. In the past, people had to use big trucks on the roads to send their goods to Delhi. Sometimes, the roads are blocked by bad weather or heavy traffic. Because of this, it took many days for the trucks to reach the big markets. When the journey takes too long, fresh fruits can easily become bad and rot. Now, with this fast train, farmers can send fresh apples, soft cherries, and many other sweet fruits to Delhi very quickly. When the fruits reach the market fast, they stay fresh and tasty. This helps the farmers earn more money for their hard work.

The train is quite large and can carry a very heavy load. It has eight special wagons that are made just for carrying goods. It also has one extra wagon for luggage and seating. During its long trip between Kashmir and Delhi, the train will stop at two important stations. These stations are Bari Brahmana and Ambala Cantt. The train will stop there so workers can quickly load more boxes onto the train or take some boxes off. This makes the service helpful for people in those middle areas as well.

This new train will not only carry fresh fruits. It will also transport many other famous items from the Kashmir Valley. For example, Kashmir is very famous for growing costly saffron and healthy walnuts. It is also famous for beautiful handmade carpets, warm shawls, and lovely wooden decorations. Now, the local artists and shop owners can pack their beautiful work and send it safely to Delhi. From Delhi, these special items can go to many other parts of the country. This will help the local businesses in Kashmir grow bigger and stronger.

Right now, the railway officers are running this train as a test. They want to see if the farmers and traders use the train and like the service. If the local people send many boxes and the train is always full, the railway office will make a good decision. They might decide to keep the train running even after the month of May. Everyone is very hopeful about this new project. It brings a lot of joy to the farmers who work hard every day. By using the smooth railway tracks instead of the bumpy roads, the journey of Kashmir’s famous products will become much easier and safer.

Indian Railways has launched a new rapid cargo train service from Budgam to Delhi to transport fresh produce and goods from Kashmir. The service reduces travel time to about 24 hours, helping farmers deliver fruits like apples and cherries quickly while maintaining freshness. This initiative aims to boost local businesses, improve logistics, and strengthen market access for Kashmiri products.
