The government is investing a huge amount of money to improve the railways in Andhra Pradesh. Minister Vaishnaw said that the state has received more than ten thousand crore rupees in the latest budget. This is a record-breaking amount and is much higher than what was given in the past. Currently, there are many railway projects happening across the state that are worth over one lakh crore rupees. One of the most impressive achievements mentioned by the Minister is that all the railway tracks in Andhra Pradesh are now powered by electricity. This is called 100 per cent electrification. Currently, many modern trains like the Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat are already serving the people of the state. The government also plans to build four railway lines all along the East Coast. The Minister also talked about a very fast “bullet train” for the southern states. He described a plan called the “High-Speed Diamond.” This plan aims to connect major cities like Hyderabad, Amaravati, Chennai, and Bengaluru with very fast trains. For example, a trip between Amaravati and Hyderabad could take only 70 minutes. This would be a dream come true for people who need to travel for work or to visit their friends and family. This high-speed network will help the whole region grow and become more successful.
Besides the new railway zone, the government is also working on making railway stations better. In Andhra Pradesh, 74 railway stations are being completely rebuilt and modernised. They will have better waiting rooms, cleaner toilets, and more facilities for the passengers. The Chief Minister also requested the Railway Minister to add more areas to the new South Coastal Railway Zone to help local regions develop even faster. Both leaders agreed that having strong railways will help Andhra Pradesh become a leader in business and logistics.
