Important Update Train Cancellations and Changes in Bengaluru Division

The South Western Railway has shared some important news for people traveling by train in the Bengaluru area. If you are planning a trip in April 2026, you need to know about some major changes. The railway department will be doing some repair and maintenance work at a level crossing between Mallasandra and Gubbi stations. Because of this important safety work, many train services will be canceled, diverted, or delayed. It is very important to check your train schedule before you leave your house.

Many daily and popular trains will not run on specific days. The Chikkamagaluru to Yesvantpur Daily Express and the KSR Bengaluru to Mysuru Wodeyar Daily Express will be completely canceled on April 8 and April 15. The local MEMU trains traveling between KSR Bengaluru and Tumakuru will also not run on April 8. If you use these trains to go to work or visit family, you will have to find another way to travel on these dates.

Some trains will only run for a part of their normal journey. For example, the Talguppa to KSR Bengaluru Daily Express will stop at Arsikere station on April 8, 11, 12, and 15. It will not go all the way to Bengaluru. In the same way, the KSR Bengaluru to Dharwad Siddaganga Express will start its journey from Arsikere instead of Bengaluru on those same dates. Passengers will have to make their own arrangements to travel between Bengaluru and Arsikere.

The railway authorities have also changed the routes for several long-distance trains. These trains will still reach their final stations, but they will travel on different tracks to avoid the repair work. The Vasco Da Gama to Yesvantpur Daily Express will take a different route through Arsikere, Hassan, and Nelamangala on April 7 and April 14. This means it will not stop at Tiptur and Tumakuru stations. The Velankanni to Vasco Da Gama Weekly Express and the Yesvantpur to Shivamogga Town Daily Express will also use this different route and skip their normal stops at Tumakuru and Tiptur.

Another train that will change its path is the Mysuru to Belagavi Vishwamanav Express. On April 8 and April 15, this train will travel through Hole Narsipur and Hassan instead of its usual track. Because of this change, the train will not stop at any stations between Pandavapura and Tiptur. If you need to get off at these skipped stations, you should plan a different way to reach your destination.

Besides cancellations and route changes, some trains will just run late. The railway officials said that a few trains will have to wait on the tracks for a short time while the repair work happens safely. The Vasco Da Gama to Yesvantpur Express will be delayed by about 20 minutes on April 10 and April 11. The Yesvantpur to Shivamogga Town Express will be delayed by about one hour on April 11 and April 12.

Some trains will start their journey later than their normal time. The Udaipur City to Mysuru Humsafar Express will leave Udaipur more than three hours late on April 6 and April 13. The Shri Ganganagar to Tiruchchirappalli Humsafar Express will also start two and a half hours late on the same dates. Finally, the Yesvantpur to Hazrat Nizamuddin Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express will leave Yesvantpur 30 minutes late on April 8 and April 15. The railway department asks all passengers to understand the situation and cooperate, as this work is necessary to make train travel safer for everyone.

South Western Railway has announced multiple train cancellations, diversions, and delays in the Bengaluru Division during April 2026 due to maintenance work between Mallasandra and Gubbi stations. Key services like Chikkamagaluru–Yesvantpur and KSR Bengaluru–Mysuru Express will be affected. Passengers are advised to check updated schedules in advance to avoid inconvenience.
