Central Railway Announces Night Blocks Between Titwala and Vasind

If you travel by the local or express trains in Mumbai and Thane, there is an important update for you. The Central Railway has announced special night blocks between the Titwala and Vasind train stations. This area falls in the Thane district. The railway authorities are taking this step to improve the train tracks and overhead wires. This improvement will help in running trains with fifteen coaches in the future. As a passenger, it is important for you to know the details so that you do not face any sudden problems during your journey.

The special traffic and power blocks will take place for a few days in the month of March. According to the official statement from the Central Railway, the work will be done on the nights of March twenty first, twenty second, twenty third, and twenty fourth. The block timings are fixed from two ten in the morning to three twenty five in the morning. The work will happen on both the Up line and the Down line. The main reason for doing this late at night is to make sure that fewer passengers are disturbed. The railway workers will remove small obstacles and modify the overhead electric equipment during this time.

Because of this necessary repair and extension work, the schedule of several long distance trains will change. Many trains will be stopped or delayed at different stations for some time. For example, the Mau to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express and the Shalimar to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express will be stopped at Vasind station for nearly an hour in the early morning. Another train, the Howrah to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Express, will wait at Atgaon station for about twelve minutes.

Other trains traveling towards Mumbai will also face similar delays. The Sainagar Shirdi to Dadar Express will be held at Khardi station, while the Bhatni to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express will wait at Kasara station. The Ballarshah to Mumbai Express will also take a short pause at Kasara. Apart from these trains, a few other express trains coming from places like Pratapgarh, Raxaul, and Asansol might run late by ten to fifteen minutes. The railway officials have clearly said that any train running late during these hours might be stopped or ended before its final destination depending on the situation.

In addition to the night blocks, the Central Railway is also planning a big maintenance block on the Trans Harbour line on Sunday, March twenty second. This day time block will happen between Thane and Vashi or Nerul stations. The timing for this work is from eleven ten in the morning to four ten in the evening. During these five hours, all train services on the Trans Harbour line between Thane and Vashi or Nerul will remain completely closed. Trains leaving from Thane towards Vashi, Nerul, and Panvel will be cancelled. Also, trains coming from Panvel, Nerul, and Vashi towards Thane will not run.

The railway authorities explain that these blocks are very important for keeping the train tracks and equipment safe. Good maintenance ensures that accidents do not happen and trains run smoothly in the future. The Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway has requested all passengers to understand the situation and bear with the temporary trouble. If you are planning to travel late at night on the main line or during the day on the Trans Harbour line, you should check your train status before leaving your home. Planning your journey ahead will save you from waiting at the station.

Central Railway has announced night blocks between Titwala and Vasind from March 21 to 24 to carry out track and overhead equipment upgrades. The work will enable operation of 15-coach trains in the future. Several express trains will face delays or temporary halts, while a daytime block on the Trans Harbour line will suspend services between Thane and Vashi/Nerul for a few hours.
