Two very important ministers in the Indian government recently took a special train journey. Their names are H.D. Kumaraswamy and V. Somanna. Mr. Kumaraswamy is the Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel. Mr. Somanna is the Minister of State for Railways. On a recent Thursday, they went to check the train tracks and railway stations between two major cities in the state of Karnataka. These cities are Bengaluru and Mysuru. They wanted to see if the train services are good, fast, and safe for the common people. Many top railway officials travelled with them to explain the ongoing work.
The long trip started in the morning at the main railway station in Bengaluru. This station is called the KSR Bengaluru City Railway Station. The special train left the station at ten o’clock in the morning and finally reached the city of Mysuru at three o’clock in the afternoon. It was a long five hour trip. The ministers looked out of the train windows to carefully inspect the tracks. They checked the old bridges and the small roads that go under the railway lines. They want to make sure trains run smoothly without causing any accidents. Mr. Kumaraswamy said he was extremely happy to travel by train again. He shared that it was a very exciting experience because he used to travel a lot by train many years ago.

During this long journey, the two ministers talked a lot about making the local railway stations much better. They discussed the areas of Ramanagara, Mandya, and Mysuru. Trains are very important for moving everyday people and heavy goods from one place to another. Trains act like the strong backbone of the entire country. Because a huge number of people travel between Bengaluru and Mysuru every single day, the ministers want to add more train services. They also want major trains to stop at more local stations so people can travel very easily. For example, a train named the Wadiyar Express will soon start stopping at the Ramanagara station. This is very good news for the local people who live and work there.
The ministers also paid very close attention to a town named Maddur. The current train station in Maddur is very old. It is actually more than one hundred years old. Also, it is located far away from the main town area. The ministers promised to build a completely new and modern station for the town. They will send railway officers to check the land very soon. The old station will also get a fresh look and new facilities in the next six months. On the way, the special train stopped at small villages like Nidaghatta and Hanakere. The ministers stopped the train to talk directly to the village people. The villagers asked for new roads under the tracks. They said that closed railway gates cause terrible traffic jams. Farmers told the ministers that they cannot take their sugar cane to the local market easily because of the closed gates. The ministers promised to conduct surveys and fix all these problems very fast.
The biggest announcement of the day was about the Mandya railway station. Mandya is a very busy and important place located exactly halfway between Bengaluru and Mysuru. It is famous for farming, business, and beautiful places to visit. Mr. Kumaraswamy asked the railway department to make the Mandya station huge and modern. He requested more platforms so that many more trains can stop there at the same time. The railway minister agreed to this great idea. They plan to change the Mandya station to look very beautiful, clean, and modern. They want it to look just like a big airport. Many other local leaders and government officers were present to hear this big promise. The local people are now very happy. They hope all these wonderful changes happen very quickly so their daily travel becomes easy and comfortable.
Union Ministers H.D. Kumaraswamy and V. Somanna inspected the Bengaluru–Mysuru rail route, reviewing infrastructure and passenger facilities. They announced key upgrades, including transforming Mandya station into a modern hub with more platforms and improved amenities. Plans also include new stoppages, better connectivity, and resolving local issues like traffic at railway crossings, aiming to enhance travel efficiency and passenger convenience.
