A major factory in Chennai, called the Integral Coach Factory, has given the main building contract to a company named BEML. This big contract was signed late last year and it is worth hundreds of crores of rupees. At first, the engineers will build two sets of these special trains. Each train will start with eight coaches, but the final plan is to make them sixteen coaches long. The design is made specifically for the wide railway tracks used everywhere in India.
Passengers can expect a lot of modern luxury inside these new trains. The outside body of the train will be made entirely of strong steel to keep everyone safe. The inside will have a fully air-conditioned environment so that travelers feel relaxed in all seasons. The seating area will look like an airplane cabin, filled with very comfortable reclining chairs. The railway department also plans to add modern entertainment and information screens to keep people busy during the journey.
